Berlin U-bahn fire
:
Eleven people had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out on a train on Berlin's U-bahn.
The fire is thought to have started in the rear two coaches of the train which was carrying about 350 people. It occurred at the Deutsche Opera station and most of the passengers were able to escape through emergency exits. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The station is close to the scene of the world's largest ever "rave" - the Love Parade which attracted over a million revellers on Saturday July 8.
In an earlier incident a 20-year old man was killed when he fell from a rapid transit train.
