USA: 18 injured in Sunset Limited collision

The train, carrying 235 people was en route between Los Angeles and Orlando, Florida when it collided with the truck hauling a salt water disposal tank. The two locomotives were derailed with the lead loco overturning. A number of carriages were also derailed. The accident occurred at 11:43 at a crossing with no lights or barriers on Union Pacific tracks.
The truck driver has been charged by the police
The 'Sunset Limited, was involved in the Amtrak's worst-ever accident at Mobile, Alabama on 22 September 1993. Forty-seven people were killed when the train fell into a bayou from a bridge had been damaged by a barge towboat.
