Freight trains in head-on collision

Two freight trains collided in northern Italy early today (June 4) killing at least 3 people.
The accident occurred at about 04:00 (local time) on the line between Parma and La Spezia. Six people, all employees of Ferrovie dello Stato (Italian State Railways) were travelling in the trains.
As rescue workers continue to sift through the wreckage, it is feared that two more people may have been killed.
According to a Ferrovie spokesperson, one of the trains may have failed to stop at a red signal.
