One killed and 3 injured in Swiss train collision
: Tuesday June 6, 2000
A passenger train collided with a stationary freight train in Switzerland today (06 June) killing one man and injuring three others.
The accident occurred at Huswil station near Lucerne. It is thought that a set of points had been incorrectly set which allowed the passenger train to enter the line on which the freight train was standing.
The man who was killed was the driver of the freight train. He was standing in the track and was struck by the passenger train. The other driver and two passengers were injured.
