DA! : Tuesday December 19, 2000
A freight train derailed on the main Southampton - Waterloo line last night.
No-one was hurt in the incident which occurred at about 23:00 (GMT) at Eastleigh near Southampton.
An axle fault is believed to have been the cause of one of the wagons to derail and fall onto its side. A further two wagons of the 23-car Freightliner train became derailed.
