Train crash kills 13, injures 210

  : Tuesday May 23, 2000
A train has crashed close to Diamnadio, Senegal killing at least 13 people and injuring 210.
The Senagalese Railway Company train was carrying pilgrims to attend a religious festival. Many people were travelling on the roofs of the 9 carriages which were derailed.

It is thought that the death toll might rise. The cause of the accident is not immediately known, but the railway company has started an investigation into the accident.
