Malwi 31 August 1998: Twenty seven people were killed and 22 were injured when their minibus was struck by a train on a level crossing near Mawli in south Rajasthan.
The accident occurred at around 1130 at an unmanned crossing. The train was a local service on the metre gauge line from Malwi to Bari Sadri. All the casualties appear to have been travelling on the minibus which was taking members of the Raibari shepherd tribe from Mawli to Karavali.
