(railtec)

Work proceeds to clear the wreckage

Work to clear the wreckage of the crashed Inter City Express train was brought to a halt on Saturday when another body was discovered amongst the remains of the restaurant car which had been crushed beneath the bridge. The clearing operation reverted to rescue mode as it was feared that there may still have been victims in the debris. This operation was completed during the afternoon with the total number of bodies brought out of the train having risen to 102.
