32 Killed in Collision on Christmas Eve at Rastam Sargana, Pakistan
railtec

Just before midnight on 24 December, at Rustam Sargana rail station, an express train full of passengers travelling for the holiday (it is a national holiday in Pakistan) smashed into a stationary locomotive. The train which was bound for Rawalpindi should have gone through the small country station on a through track. However it seems to have been switched to a different line and into the path of the stationary train waiting to depart for Multan.

The accident occurred in thick fog and resulted in thirty two people being killed and forty injured.
