Charlestown 1912
2-4-2T No.276 of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway comes to grief near Hebden Bridge. The accident occurred on 21 June 1912. Four people died and 20 were injured when an engine pulling six carriages took the curve too quickly and left the rails, crashing into the embankment.
